In a not-so-distant future, human beings are being relocated from Earth to established settlements in near-space. But don’t worry, it’s all for the good of the species and survival of the planet. Belinda Q is among the most recent collection of people scooped up for assignment to other planets. Before she goes, however, Belinda and the other ‘expendable’ men and women will have a three-hour window in which to find a soulmate. It’s called the Attachment Race. Half absurdist tradition and half pragmatic matchmaking event, the Attachment Race will fill the final evening on Earth for Belinda and her peers. What could go wrong?

It took me awhile to become invested in the story. Actually, I left the book part-way through and read several others before coming back around to it. Overall, I was glad I came back, because I found the second half of the story more interesting than the first. The tone of the story was sombre at times, but not dreary. The main character became more interesting as the story progressed.
I wish more time had been spent on the event the book is named for, and that the story had gone on a bit longer after that event. There were some really interesting aspects shown of some characters' personalities (like the guard who is sleazy, but maybe not altogether bad) that I would have liked to see further developed.
For me, the story was well told, but seemed to end just when it was becoming most interesting.

The Attachment Race eBook Kevin Bliss Reviews
This book was too short. I hope there is a second book. I enjoyed reading this and didn't find any typos! I look forward to reading more from this author.
Excellent sorry. Different from the ordinary. Highly recommended
Nice character development. Interesting concept and story. Well written with none of the often terrible editing we often get with many of the e books. The story stands alone but, as most good books do, leaves you wanting more. I'll definitely be interested in the sequels. Highly recommended.
Tale of what might be on future earth.Author knows how to spin a story so you feel their emotions. Will be looking forward to more great reads to come.
Dystopian fable of an overpopulated and dying Earth. Unessential people enslaved to off-world work camps to support by their labors the dying humanity
This book, while short on background and events leading up to its present setting, conveys the depth of feeling of the characters and situation. I enjoyed it. I'm hoping for a sequel, and perhaps even a prequel!
... You find yourself thinking 'maybe I could just make an excuse to skip the 4th of July parade" so you can finish the book. And yes, I confess I had this thought when I was in the middle of this. It was That Good. A quick read, with engaging characters, an entirely too believable scenario, and a world you'll fall right into.
Please, Mr. Bliss, write us a sequel.
